TriRx Pharmaceutical Services are a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO), committed to creating a better outsourcing experience for customers in the human and animal pharmaceutical industry.


Our Liverpool Facility

Situated in the central hub of one of the prominent bioprocessing regions in the UK, the TriRx Speke facility boasts a rich heritage in the production of biotechnology for both animals and humans. The facility had its beginnings in 1945 when it was opened by Sir Alexander Fleming and quickly became established as the world's largest manufacturer of penicillin. Whilst the facility has been under different ownership, TriRx proudly upholds its mission to offer a range of expanding Biotech Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) services, encompassing activities such as fermentation, spray drying, coating, and pre-mixing. With dedicated investments in both the site and our personnel, we are committed to venturing into the realm of large molecule business, including the development of monoclonal antibodies, peptides, and gene-based therapeutic products. We have a headcount of approx 350, but this will increase with the pending site investment.

In July 2023, we announced a 10 million investment in our Biotechnology facility. This attracted attention from local and national newspapers and even prompted visits from VIP guests including the Liverpool Mayor. The Liverpool investment fund have also contributed to our advancements, securing long-term sustainable careers for many. We are currently transforming and need entrepreneurial mindsets with a passion for making a difference in everything you do.

The average tenure of a Liverpool employee is just over 10 years, with many having more than 25 years service. Our culture is friendly and inclusive from the moment you arrive at security.
