As an Manufacturing / Operations Director you will provide overall leadership to the relevant Production or Process Team regarding operational execution.
Key focus KPI’s are Safety, Quality, CTP, People, Budget, and Continuous improvement, ensuring essential business processes are maintained.
**The Operations Director operates within the 6 – 12-month vision window. They set, communicate, and monitor production and improvement plans on behalf of the broader manufacturing team. They lead and develop the operational team members, ensuring training, development, calibration, and succession plans are in place.

What you will do as an Operations Director at Elanco Liverpool
· To provide EHS leadership for operational execution though continuous improvements to safety culture and safe systems of work. The Operations Director is responsible for ensuring that safe systems of work are adopted and monitored.
· To lead execution of KPI’s linked with the manufacturing facility. This includes.
· Preparation – equipment (breakdown response), materials, documentation
· Manufacture – operations - owning conformance to plan (CTP) and recovery plans working closely with supply chain leads. Maintenance execution, start-up /shutdown
· Quality- BPR completion, Right First Time (RFT), Housekeeping and cleaning. Managing operational aspects of site audit visits
· Routine Monitoring – e.g., water, sampling, SAP etc.
· Approvals – Events and Change, GMP documents (SOP’s, BPR’s, Change controls, CAPA’s)
· Budget Management – Responsible for all spending within their cost centre. Key focus areas Head count management, Overtime spends, Engineering activities, Raw material, and service contracts.
· People – Calibration and performance management systems. Development and training plans. Supporting investigations/disciplinaries. Experience of working with unionised workforce.
· Ensuring compliance with all relevant feed safety standards
· To establish the Process Team’s balanced scorecard and drive continuous improvement to reduce variability and improve performance. Represent team at site governance processes, including SLT, TIPs, steering committees
· To ensure teams comply with standard work processes, by setting common goals and expectations through leadership of Process Team meetings.
· To lead site operational goals, whether incremental or step changing.
· To lead Process Teams, demonstrating Tri RX behaviors driving accountability and expectations. Working with individual functional leaders, assessing Process Team members’ performance, providing feedback, and helping identify development needs.
· To be the team point of contact for Planning, Financial and Customer Services for production and capacity plans, business plans, financial performance, and on-time delivery.
· The Natural Fermentation and Recovery Operations Director has additional responsibility for feed safety within the Fermentation, Recovery and Enzymes areas. This is to ensure compliance with the relevant regulatory requirements; support Feed Safety Management; ensure adequately trained personnel are available for HACCP teams; ensure adequate resources are available to meet feed safety requirements.
What you will need to be an Operations Director at Elanco Liverpool
· Degrees In relevant science or engineering degree
· HACCP Level 3
· Minimum of 5 years operational experience within Pharma or FMCG
· Budget management experience
· Experiencing of working in a unionised environment
