Technical Services / Process Engineering / Manufacturing Science Placement 2024/2025 (12 months, starting July to September 2024)

Are you looking for an industrial placement as part of your undergraduate degree or integrated (undergraduate) masters?

TriRx Pharmaceutical Services is a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) committed to creating a better outsourcing experience for customers in the Human and Animal Health Pharmaceutical industries. TriRx Speke (Liverpool, UK) are looking for a talented undergraduate student to join them within the TS/MS team at our manufacturing site in Speke, Liverpool.

The TS/MS and Process Engineering team within the Technical Operations group have responsibility for the scientific and process engineering support of several different on-site manufacturing processes, from large scale fermentation to finished product manufacturing areas. This placement will give you first-hand experience of manufacturing, technology, engineering and science across a number of processes in a dynamic work environment.

We have run successful student industrial placement programmes for many years and consider it key component of our graduate recruitment strategy. The variety of process technologies used on site will give the successful candidate a fantastic opportunity to get first-hand experience of the highly regulated Pharmaceutical Industry, working with and learning from our experts across varied processes and technologies.

What does a student placement involve?

• Develop a technical understanding of manufacturing processes including awareness of good manufacturing practices and customer requirements.

• Partner cross-functionally on resolution of issues in order to ensure manufacturing schedules and orders are maintained

• Investigate and complete product investigations, using root cause analysis and other relevant investigative techniques.

• Introduce process changes designed to maintain or enhance safety, product quality, yield and throughput in line with business needs whilst ensuring no detrimental impact to product quality or regulatory commitments

• Work with other site functions (Operations, Quality, Engineering) to identify process improvement and optimisation opportunities.

• Be involved with scoping of new products / customers to the site
