Elanco are seeking a dynamic new member to our fantastic Engineering team. The Site Electrical Engineer / Duty Holder will play a pivotal role in providing specialist electrical engineering and project management services, whilst being the electrical duty holder for our UK site in Speke, Liverpool.
What you will do as the Site Electrical Engineer / Duty Holder
• Provide electrical engineering and project management advice to key stakeholders through effective communication
• Act as the duty holder in relation to responsibilities within your discipline, as outlined by COMAH requirements
• Hold primary responsibility for the Electrical Authorisation process on site
• Take responsibility for the site management system for your discipline
• Perform regular active monitoring; ensuring that high standards are upheld
• Be the designated electrical specialist for excavation and switch room permits
• Utilise your recognised project management skill and experience to take responsibility for the electrical infrastructure and related planning
• Identify, implement and own projects that will include budgeting, scope definitions, process design sheets and drawings
• Take responsibility for reviewing and approving all variations and changes to project scopes
• Own the oversight of contract resources during project delivery; ensuring all work is completed safely and to the highest standard
• Work closely with Senior Site Leaders and wider colleagues across Manufacturing, QA, EHS and Maintenance to ensure safety, strong working relationships and project delivery
• Be a key member of our ERMT (Emergency Response Management Team), acting to advise on site electrical position in the case of an emergency event
• As a ERMT member and in the case of an incident, investigate root cause when appropriate and return equipment to service
• Mentor onsite craft and support the team to achieve the required electrical authorisation level required for their role. Signing off completion via a competency assessment
• Take ownership of capital expenditure and forecasting cash flow and spend
• Execute work, adhering to all legal and Elanco safety standards

Essential Criteria for the role of Electrical Engineer / Duty Holder
• Degree level education in Electrical Engineering; Chartered Engineer or working toward
• A recognised project management qualification and ability to showcase previous work
• 5+ years experience of electrical engineering applications in medium to large industrial manufacturing sites
• Exemplary knowledge and application of electrical standards and legal requirements
• Demonstrable experience of electrical safety, including assessment and authorisation of competent persons
• Demonstrable experience in management, maintenance and operation of:
- HV,LV distribution systems
- Medium & small power LV installations
- Earthing and lightning protection systems
- Electrical equipment in hazardous areas
- DSEAR
- Electrical inspection and testing
Desirable Criteria for the role of Electrical Engineer / Duty Holder
• Previous experience of working at an upper tier COMAH site
• Previous experience of working within Life Sciences industry
