Maintenance Director

Are you the passionate and driven Maintenance Director we need as part of our exciting growth and transformation? Do you have people, engineering and production passion that will ensure we run a best-in-class service?

We are seeking a dynamic Maintenance Director, to take us forward into the future. Reporting to our Senior Engineering and Facilities Director, you will be a pivotal member of our management team with autonomy over key areas that will include, safety, quality, creative thinking, continual improvement and alignment to our values, culture and future vision.

What you will do as a Maintenance Director

• Lay the foundation for improvements in line with the pillars of total productive maintenance

• Manage and ensure the performance and reliability of site equipment and production machinery

• Coach, empower and support the team with proactive maintenance, continuous improvement, strategic direction, values alignment and business growth

• Fully apply your creative manufacturing problem solving skills and program management experience

• Demonstrable experience of TPM tools and techniques, and/or Lean philosophy, that sets out a preventative maintenance program

• Co-ordinate the deployment of our Operational Excellence plan

• Lead the way and proactively communicate operational plans to ensure teams are compliant to latest standards

• Manage delivery of the operation line improvement roadmaps with budget, action plans & resources

• Lead cost, energy and environmental reduction/control initiatives

• Be a point of escalation as the subject matter expert for the business area

• Maintain and deploy guidance and resource that ensures all applicable standards, laws, regulations and rules are adhered to

• Deployment of new standards and requirements in line with operational projects

• Contributor to the deployment of the site capability and planning

• Present, network and influence at all levels of the organisation and externally, to ensure best practice, strong team communication and business outputs

• Exemplary people management skills that will ensure safety, engagement and raise the overall profile of the function

• Be a brand advocate, demonstrating our values in all you do

What is the Essential Criteria for the role of a Maintenance Director

• Degree level education in an engineering discipline

• Strong and demonstrable experience of working in a manufacturing environment

• At least 5 years’ operational experience in a pharmaceutical setting

• At least 5 years experience of leading a top performing team/s with pace and energy

• Demonstrable experience of budget and resource responsibility

• Proven track record of being a brand advocate, values aligned and supporting people to achieve business objectives

What is the Desirable Criteria for the role of Maintenance Director

• Prior experience of working on a COMAH site

• A recognised project management qualification

• Exposure to working within a unionised environment
